Galland Kharasch's litigation group represents clients in a variety of civil, administrative and criminal proceedings before courts and administrative agencies across the country. Our attorneys regularly appear before federal courts at the trial and appellate level, in numerous state court proceedings throughout the United States, in arbitrations and other alternative dispute resolution proceedings, and in litigation before foreign tribunals. Litigation lawyers also appear routinely before federal and state regulatory agencies, including the Department of Transportation (DOT), the Surface Transportation Board, the National Transportation Safety Board (NTSE), the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) and the Federal Maritime Commission (FMC). Our wide-ranging civil litigation practice includes cases of virtually every variety, such as disputes involving complex contract issues, employee non-competition enforcement, business torts and regulated matters including antitrust, fraud, civil RICO, patent, trademark, equal employment opportunity, trade secrets, labor and unfair competition. Given the firm's international client base, litigation attorneys often are involved in matters raising complex issues of the application of foreign laws, and the relationships between the laws of the United States and foreign countries. We also have experience in administrative law, particularly as applied in agencies regulating transportation, energy and other industries, and in judicial review of those agencies' decisions. Galland Kharasch's attorney's have also actively conducted and participated in numerous alternative dispute residential proceedings, including mediation and arbritation in both the U.S. and abroad. In addition to civil litigation, the firm represents clients in criminal investigations and litigation, primarily in the area of white collar criminal defense. The firm represents criminal defendants in major criminal price-fixing trials and in criminal investigations instituted by the Antitrust Division of the United States Department of Justice. Galland Kharasch attorneys are active in litigation involving complex federal regulations before administrative agencies and the courts. Our administrative litigation practice includes, for example, a variety of proceedings before the FMC arising under the federal shipping statutes, representation of clients in civil penalty and certificate actions before the NTSB, energy rate-making proceedings before FERC, rail merger and rate cases before the STB and in a wide range of regulatory matters before DOT. Galland Kharasch is equipped to handle all of our client litigation needs, from straightforward private commercial disputes, to the most complex federal class-action cases. Depending upon the client's needs, we work individually, as teams within the litigation practice area or with other attorneys in the firm, to ensure that our clients receive the most effective representation available. Our litigators develop strategies designed to most effectively advance our clients' interests, while minimizing the cost and burden associated with litigation, and achieving the most favorable result possible for our clients. |
