Christopher B. Younger

Chris Younger is a principal in the firm's Business Aviation Group.  Chris focuses his legal practice on business aircraft transactions as well as issues relating to federal and state taxation and regulation of business aircraft ownership and operations.

Chris assists his clients with all aspects of business aircraft ownership and operations with a particular emphasis on the following:

  • Thorough negotiation and documentation of the acquisition and disposition of new (OEM) and used business aircraft including both whole and fractional aircraft interests
  • Comprehensive analysis of all federal income tax, federal excise tax and state sales and use tax issues arising in connection with the acquisition, disposition, ownership and operation of business aircraft
  • Creation of innovative tax planning strategies designed to maximize tax savings and minimize tax liabilities in full compliance with all applicable legal requirements
  • Structuring and completing tax deferred like kind exchanges of business aircraft under Internal Revenue Code Section 1031
  • Drafting, reviewing and negotiating aircraft loan and lease documents
  • Creating, negotiating and reviewing aircraft co-ownership, management and charter operation structures including related tax planning and regulatory compliance
  • Representing business aircraft owners and operators in connection with federal and state tax audits and appeals of tax assessments

Chris's practice also encompasses general business planning and implementation strategies, including choice of entity and ownership structures and structuring and negotiating mergers, acquisitions and reorganizations of business entities.
