Hannah Atkinson is a regulatory and transportation attorney who advises businesses on how to navigate high‑stakes federal regulatory issues, including export controls, sanctions, customs, maritime, air transportation, and other transportation and trade matters. Hannah also advises businesses and individuals on legal issues involving contracts, employment, and disputes.

Hannah leverages her previous experience as a regulatory enforcement lawyer to advise clients on regulatory compliance and enforcement matters.  Specifically, Hannah drafts and revises compliance programs, represents clients in enforcement cases before the U.S. government, and analyzes the applicability of license requirements and exemptions to particular transactions.

Before joining the firm, Hannah served as in-house counsel to senior TSA officials at several major U.S. airports, including the busiest airport in the world. There, she oversaw regulatory investigations, navigated employment & labor law issues that affected thousands of employees and prosecuted over 100 enforcement actions. Within Hannah’s first year at TSA, Chief Counsel’s Office recognized her with two awards: Chief Counsel’s Emerging Leader Award and its Award for Excellence.

Hannah also previously worked for the U.S. Attorney’s Office in the civil, criminal, and appellate divisions, and litigated on behalf of the United States in proceedings and briefs under a practice order. She had the privilege of working with a U.S. District Court judge and gained valuable insight into how courts make decisions. Her experience inside federal agencies and the courts gives her a practical edge: she understands how regulators & decision-makers think and knows how to resolve investigations effectively.
