GKG Law Elects Oliver M. Krischik as Principal

GKG Law is pleased to announce that Oliver M. Krischik has been elected as the firm’s newest principal. Krischik has been with the firm since 2017.

He is highly respected by his clients and colleagues, and we are delighted that Oliver will have a leadership role within the firm.”

In his day-to-day practice, Krischik advises businesses, individuals, and non-profit organizations with issues surrounding trade law, economic sanctions, export controls, data privacy, GDPR, the Customs-Trade Partnership Against Terrorism (C-TPAT), and financial regulations. He counsels his clients on trade compliance, licensing, and enforcement matters related to the Department of the Treasury’s Office of Foreign Assets Control and Financial Crimes Enforcement Network, the Department of Commerce’s Bureau of Industry & Security and Office of Antiboycott Compliance, and the Department of State’s Directorate of Defense Trade Controls. He advises and educates clients on GDPR developments, implications, and proper compliance. In addition, he incorporates new for-profit and non-profit entities, drafts bylaws and related corporate governance documents, and applies for and obtains federal tax-exempt status for the firm’s tax-exempt clients and their affiliates. Krischik has represented U.S. and foreign clients in the agricultural, auto manufacturing, aviation, electronics, environmental, export/import, food, healthcare, medical, healthcare, workforce mobility, oil and gas, pharmaceutical, and travel sectors. 

Krischik was named a Washington, DC Super Lawyers “Rising Star” in Administrative Law in 2019 and 2020, and was recognized in the inaugural The Best Lawyers in America©: Ones to Watch for Transportation Law. He is a featured speaker and author on topics such as economic sanctions, data privacy, GDPR, anti-money laundering, and issues surrounding international trade. As a recognized leader in his field, Krischik has been quoted in national and international publications, including The New York Times, Voice of America, and Radio Free Asia.

Krischik earned his J.D. from Georgetown University Law Center and his B.A. from Washington and Lee University. He is admitted to practice in Virginia and the District of Columbia.
