Data Privacy

Data privacy and security are subject to multiple layers of Federal, State and foreign government regulations.  Each year, countries and states continue to propose and pass new legislation on how individuals’ data must be collected, processed, and protected.  As trade associations regularly manage large sets of data on members, event attendees, and other individuals, we advise on how to address data privacy and security issues in privacy policies, terms of service, agreements with third-parties, internal practices, and communications with individuals.  In addition, GKG Law’s Association Practice Group advises on how companies can determine any exposure to the new European Union’s General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), and, if applicable, adopt tailored solutions to maintain GDPR compliance.
